Assembly and installation

The RecoSilent behind the wooden ribs is a "soft" acoustic blanket that can be mounted on a rounded wall if the curve is not too sharp.

No, it is not possible. Here we recommend that you glue the panels. Otherwise, you must use plugs.

Mounting glue - 290ml - WallRibbon

If the ribbed panels are on the floor/plinth, we recommend glue as the easiest mounting method.

We do not recommend installing our panels in bathrooms/wet rooms.

However, a guest toilet without a shower is not a problem.

Installing our panels in a sauna is not recommended.

Yes, you can. The acoustics of the wall panels will not change depending on whether the panels are installed horizontally or vertically.

Mounting our panels around a fireplace is not recommended.

If you have switches or plugs on the wall, you should use a jigsaw/hole saw.

You then make a hole in the panel and then install the plug on top or recessed in the panel.

Installation instructions for ribbed walls and wall panels can be found on our assembly page.

We do not recommend installing our panels outdoors.

You can if the conservatory is insulated and has year-round heating.

Absolutely you can splice the panels. On the long side of our panels, they have a 5 mm overlap that makes the joints not visible at all. On the short side you place them end to end, or you can use a finishing strip between the panels.

You can install our panels on almost any surface.

For example, on a surface made of concrete, wood, wallpaper or brick.

One tube of glue is enough for about 2.5 panels. We recommend the glue that we sell on our website.

Mounting glue - 290ml - WallRibbon

We recommend glueing the finishing strip to the wall panel and the existing wall. You can also choose to screw up the moulding or use nails.

Yes, you can. There are no problems mounting our panels in the ceiling. We recommend that you mount the panels on the ceiling with our mounting screws.

Keep in mind that it takes twice as many screws and that you should place the screws at a distance of 30 cm for best results.

Material

Recycled plastic, more than 50% is from PET bottles. The blanket also fulfils all requirements set by REACH regulation EC1907/2006.

The producer certifies that the felt does not exceed 0.1% of substances listed on the following:

  • European Chemical Agency´s Annex XVII list of Restricted Substances.
  • The European Union Restriction of Hazardus Substances (RoHS 3 EU2015/863).
  • Californian Proposition 65 list under the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986.
  • International Living Future Institute (ILFI).

Our panels consist of 12 mm MDF and 0.6 mm FSC Certified veneer (surface treatment, lacquered, stained or untreated), high-pressure laminate or water-based paint. The product fulfils Möbelfakta's requirements for the environment and responsible supply chains.

Panels

Our panels are in sizes 2400 x 600 mm and 2960 x 600 mm.

We have three different colours of our acoustic felt; black, grey and white. We have a large selection of panels and it is therefore not possible to combine the ribs and colour of the felt freely. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@wallribbon.com

  • One 2400x600 mm panel covers 1.44 m²
  • One 2960x600 mm panel covers 1.77 m²
However, keep in mind that the installation of the panels may result in spillage.

No, our panels are not difficult to cut yourself. We recommend using a circular saw, plunge saw or fine-toothed saw.

If you want to cut the panel's felt, we recommend using a carpet knife.

The difference is that on the Classic Oak panel there are no knots in the wood structure. While Rustic Natural Oak has knots so the oak looks a bit rustic/old.

If you want more white-pigmented oak, we recommend our white-pigmented oil.

Classic Oak is an untreated oak panel, while Diamond Oak has a lacquered surface.

Classic Ash is an untreated ash panel, while Diamond Ash has a 2% white pigmented lacquered finish.

No, this is not something we offer at the moment. However, you can buy the panels and then remove the clips on the back by yourself.

If you need to cut the height, the best way to do this is to use a circular saw or a plunge saw. Preferably use a ruler to get the cut straight. If it's on the width, do the same procedure if the cut is on a wooden strip, otherwise use a carpet knife if the cut is on the acoustic felt.

Yes, we offer cutting of the panels.

You can add saw cuts on the product pages, look for the button for saw cuts and enter the desired number of saw cuts and the desired height in mm, and we will do the rest.

The gap between the ribs on our panels is 15 mm.

The width of our ribs is 25 mm.

You can oil the MDF edges as well for a more "glossy" finish. It is best if you know that the panels will be either sawn to height or cut to width. If you get any spillage, we recommend testing on a rib, so you can see the exact result.

There are 15 ribs on all of our panels, except the Barcode range. On those panels, it is 12 ribs.

Care

The easiest way is to clean the panels with a dry mop or to vacuum the panels gently.

Depending on whether you have oiled them or not, it is good to oil the panels once a year. The thing to keep in mind is that the panels will become sun-bleached over time and may change slightly in the wood.

No, only if you have oiled them yourself from the beginning.

Sound classification

  • Mounting directly on the wall gives D class
  • Installation with a 45 mm air gap without insulation gives C-class.
  • Installation with 45 mm mineral wool gives A class with extra good values in low frequencies.

No, but they attenuate the sound due to the acoustic blanket, but only with limited results.

The panels reduce sound depending on how many you use. They help to absorb the room's sound.

Fire class

The acoustic felt on our standard panels is fire-rated Bs1-D0, and the wooden slats are Ds2-D0.

We can offer fire-rated, in which case everything fulfils B-class. Please contact info@wallribbon.com if you are interested.

Other

It does not matter, it has to do with your own taste, you can do what you want.

The pictures on the website give a good and inspiring view of the panels. The colour of the panels that you see on your screen may depend, for example, on the brightness, quality, etc of your screen. Wood is from nature and changes and moulds itself in appearance. We recommend you order samples from us, to be sure that the panel meets your expectations.

Of course, the rib itself can hold smaller weights, but if you are going to put up heavy things like pots/TVs/shelves, We absolutely recommend that you anchor this with the underlying wall.

We have our manufacturing in Sweden and all materials come from Sweden. The acoustic blanket is made from more than 50% recycled PET bottles. We also have a genuine FSC certificate for wood veneer on all our panels.
